The Cawang-Dukuh Atas Light Rail Transit (LRT) project will begin on Jalan HR Rasuna Said Kuningan, South Jakarta.
Herein, we just do limitation and diversion of traffic flows
During the project, the traffic engineering system will be applied at the location.
MRT and LRT Ready to Be Tested in August 2018Jakarta Transportation Dept. Vice Head, Sigit Wijatmoko said, LRT project is located in the middle median of the road separator. Additionally, it will also use Transjakarta lane on the west and east sides along Jalan HR Rasuna Said.
He explained it would be executed gradually in order to avoid permanent closure.
"Herein, we just do limitation and diversion of traffic flows," he expressed, Wednesday (8/2).
According to him, it is divided into five zones. With details, zone 1 includes UP Kuningan-Kemenkes Building will begin on September 22, 2017-December 2018.
"Zone 1 project includes fence installation, facility relocation and continued with construction," he stated.
While zone 2, it begins from UP Kemenkes Building-MMC Hospital where it will be executed on August 12, 2017-December 2018. Then zone 3, it starts from UP MMC Hospital-in front of KPK Building on July 14, 2017-December 2018.
"This location is the starting point of project," he told.
Further, there is also zone 4, starting from in front of KPK Building-Landmark on September 13, 2017-December 2018, and the last is zone 5, starting from Landmark-Shangrila Hotel on November 8, 2017-December 2018.
He furthered, traffic engineering is taken, as there is reduction in road width or number of lanes. Initially there were two fast lanes, two slow lanes and one Transjakarta lane. By this project, there will be made four lanes of mix traffic.
"Road median that separates slow and fast lanes will be torn down on both sides of Jalan HR Rasuna Said," he explained.
His side also has prepared alternative lanes to parse traffic jam in the field. The road user from north heading to south and vice versa can pass on Jalan MH Thamrin and Jalan Sudirman, or Jalan Supomo-Jalan Saharjo-Kasablanka and vice versa.
"After the project is done, traffic will back to normal. We urge people to adapt the condition," he closed.
